World Book Day at Phoenix Integrated Primary School

As part of Integrated Education Month and World Book Day Phoenix Integrated Primary and Nursery School were delighted to welcome author Amelia Kai to school. Amelia is a social justice activist and children’s author who lives in Galgorm. She worked with the Council for Integrated Education to develop the story “The Bees and the Wind” (read more by clicking here) to mark 40 years of Integrated Education. The pupils at Phoenix IPS enjoyed listening to Amelia read to them and had a great discussion about the history of Integrated Education and the impact of the Good Friday Agreement, which will mark its 25-year anniversary in April this year.

With work commencing on a new school building Phoenix IPS are delighted to be able to strengthen their integrated profile and offer a premises that will enhance the education of all pupils in the school community.
