A Public Meeting co-ordinated by the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) took place at Cedar Integrated Primary School, Crossgar on Thursday 29th November 2018. This meeting was held in response to increased parental demand for integrated post-primary provision in the area.
Since then a parent group has been formed, with NICIE support, which aims to open an 11-18 integrated post-primary school in the Crossgar/Saintfield area. The parent group is raising awareness of the project at events in the area and is collecting Expression of Interest forms to assess the demand for post-primary integrated provision.
If you would like your child to have the option of integrated post-primary in the Mid-Down area, then please complete a form from this page. This does not commit you to any form of action but does help to indicate the level of support for integrated post-primary provision in this area.
Anyone who supports this proposal can also write an email to dps@education-ni.gov.uk referencing DP 667 Mid Down Integrated College simply state that you support it.
Additional information can be found on the Mid-Down Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page here.

There is currently a proposal to “establish a new co-educational, 11-18, non-selective controlled integrated post-primary school in Coleraine, in partnership with Ulster University (being in effect an amalgamation of Coleraine College, Dunluce School and North Coast Integrated College) with effect from 1 September 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.”
