Shared Education
On Friday 24th June two hundred and twenty year 8 pupils from Parkhall Integrated College, Antrim Grammar School and St. Benedict’s, Randalstown began their ‘Shared Education’ journey. The pupils met at St. Benedict’s accompanied by some of their teachers and enjoyed activities to learn how to work better together cope with stress, make decisions and be confident. It was great to see pupils from the schools communicating effectively and respecting each other despite their differences. Riverside Special School pupils will join the partnership next year and attend some of the planned shared lessons. This is the beginning a more meaningful and sustainable programme for the schools who have a history of working well together on projects in the past. The benefits to the pupils and the schools as well as the local community should be great.
