NICIE appoints new Chief Executive Officer

The Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) Board of Governors has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. The new CEO is Roisin Marshall, who has over 24 years’ experience working in education and teaching, including working in primary, post primary and special education.  She previously worked at NICIE in the Senior Management Team, and has worked as a Project Manager in an Education Board (on secondment).  She has recently been a professional associate for NICIE and CCEA.

Roisin Marshall will commence her role as the CEO of NICIE in January 2016 and she succeeds Noreen Campbell who retired at the end of October after six years’ service.

She has the combined experience of front line teaching experience having worked in schools in a range of sectors, as well as senior leadership roles, including the development of integrating education in the NEELB for 5 years.

Alan Henry, Chair of the Board of Governors at NICIE remarked “On behalf of the board of Directors of NICIE I am delighted to welcome Roisin Marshall as our new CEO.  The Board looks forward to the continued work of leading, promoting and facilitating the development and growth of integrated education through a range of approaches, including innovation, influence, and working with others.”

The CEO designate said, “I am delighted and excited to be offered this role and be given the opportunity to continue the excellent legacy left by Noreen Campbell. My role will be pivotal to ensuring that Integrated Education is at the heart of the Northern Ireland educational landscape.

I am looking forward to building positive collaborations and partnerships with our education providers to ensure that every child has the opportunity of an integrated educational experience. By working together, we will be stronger.”

Roisin Marshall is married with children and lives in the Belfast area.  She is not affiliated to any political parties or a member of any other public bodies.
