Thursday 05 May 2016 saw the finals of the NEBSSA athletics competition return to the Antrim Forum athletics track. Ulidia IC was strongly represented by two students, James in Year 8 and Erin in Year 9.
James performed well in the U13 boys 800m category and after a quick paced first lap came over the finish line in a very respectable 6th position, well done!
Erin had performed very well at the NEBSSA heats last week and was looking in a good position to repeat her success in 3 events, the 200m, javelin and high jump. She started the morning off with a fabulous win in the 200m, with a time of 27.8 seconds, 2 seconds ahead of the next runner. In her next event the high jump, she was up against a couple of tough competitors but finished on top with a successful clearance at 1.44m to clinch the title. Erin continued her success in her final event the javelin by making 3 clear throws to finish in second position. This is an outstanding performance by Erin who will now continue to represent Ulidia at the District Athletics competition; we wish her every success at this event!
