UK Union Presidents visit Hazelwood College to learn about Integration

Presidents of three major UK teaching Unions visited Hazelwood Integrated College on Tuesday 14th January from 2pm–4pm to learn about Integrated Education.

Those visiting the College were:

•Stephen McCord, President of the 6,000 strong Ulster Teachers’ Union (UTU) and the only teaching union based in Northern Ireland.

•Beth Davies, President of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), the largest teachers union in the UK and

•Phil Jackson, President of The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), which is the largest teaching union in Scotland and also the oldest teaching union in the world.

Principal Kathleen Gormley showcased films on Integration which have been made at the College and the visitors met with various staff and students. They were also brought on a tour of the School.
