This year NICIE is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Integrated Education. As part of the commemoration events and activities, NICIE is developing the project “The Big Small Stories: Exploring and Uncovering Cultural and Social Heritage of Integrated Education” This is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund for a period of two years from January 2017.
The project will be launched on Friday 3rd of March as part of the opening event of Integrated Education Month 2017 (IEM). We will start working with integrated schools in the process of capturing and recording the memories and experiences of the people behind the foundation and development of integrated education. As the theme for IEM 2017 is “Remembering” we would like schools to share with us their stories, images and other heritage material, and photos of the activities the school will organise to celebrate IEM 2017.
The Big Small Stories from schools will be showcased during 2017 and 2018 through a public exhibition, an educational APP, and an oral history publication about Integrated Education. If you would like more information, please contact Alexandra De La Torre at adelatorre@nicie.org.uk
