Record Success at North Coast IC

Principal of North Coast Integrated College, Mr Paul Mullan, congratulated the many successful students on their GCSE success, which includes 100% A*-C grades across diverse subject areas from Maths to Media Studies. As a result of such success this September, yet again, boasts a large number of year 13 students enrolled at the College. Many students have transferred from other schools to study alongside successful GCSE students from the College.  North Coast Integrated celebrated excellent achievement across the board in external examinations.

In congratulating the achievements of his pupils, Mr Mullan stated that North Coast Integrated College’s unique blend of programmes is in direct response to student needs and the modern marketplace. He added that the College offers pupils new and interesting subject choices that break the mould of traditional and often outdated subjects that no longer reflect the needs of employers:

“Our subject options are designed to suit the specific needs and interests of each year group. Our subjects are selected to suit our students; not the other way around. This means our students are able to study and get valuable qualifications in subjects that really interest them.”

“Yes, of course exam success is important but it is not the only focus for education at North Coast Integrated College. It is vital that pupils are prepared for the world of work and that they benefit from the skills that will allow them to continue their education.

At North Coast Integrated the curriculum changes each year to meet the needs of the pupils and takes into consideration labour market trends.”

Mr Mullan thanked all staff members who work tirelessly to allow all pupils to reach their full potential.

“There is a dedicated team which allows the full development of all our pupils. Excellent careers advice ensures that pupils have a focus and know where there are job opportunities. The pastoral team ensures that the trials and stresses that can affect all young people are listened to and dealt with sympathetically.”

Mr Mullan believes that the positive relationships between all staff, pupils and parents have made an important contribution to the excellent results.
