READATHON 2015 at Integrated College Dunganon

Year 8, 9 & 10 students from Integrated College recently participated in the annual sponsored reading event – Readathon. Over a 3 week period, the students read as many books as they could and were sponsored by family and friends for doing so.

Readathon supports two exceptional children’s charities: CLIC Sargent, giving support to children and young people with cancer and their families; and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps seriously ill and disabled children.  All the money raised by the students at Integrated College Dungannon was recently presented to the local branch of CLIC Sargent.

CLIC Sargent representative, Nadine Campbell spoke to the students and explained to them that the money they had raised would enable a family to be accommodated in a ‘home from home’ house so that they could be close to their sick child when they are in hospital receiving treatment.

Congratulations to the top fundraiser in each year; Zevander, Year 8, Gary, Year 9 and Michael, Year 10.  Special congratulations to Gary who was the top fundraiser.
