From everyone at NICIE, we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Our office is now closed and will remain so until Monday the 6th of January. If you would like to get in touch, please email admin@nicie.org.uk and we’ll respond as soon as possible upon our return.
2019 has been a great year for integrated education, and we look forward to everything that 2020 brings. Here are just a few highlights from the year:
- Six schools voted overwhelmingly to transform and join the integrated family.
- We welcomed some new patron’s and supporters of integrated education including Oliver Jeffers, Patrick Kielty, Holly Hamilton, and Connor Phillips
- The Mid-Down Integrated College Steering Group has continued to gain momentum.
- And both the organisation and staff have been recognised for their continued efforts with a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize and Lorna McAlpine’s MBE.
Of course, however, the real stars of 2019 have been the integrated schools across Northern Ireland. The hard work of staff and students alike has been a credit to the integrated education movement, and too numerous to mention. We look forward to working with them all again in the new year.
You can look back on the year that’s been through our news archive here.
