Fort Hill Integrated College Student Receives Highly Commended in National Poetry Writing Competition

In Spring 2021, Clean for Good – the ethical workspace cleaning company, ran the first national poetry competition to celebrate the UK’s many key workers, Poetry for Good.

The competition was designed to recognise and celebrate the wide variety of key workers in the UK and the often unseen, hard work that they do.

Out of nearly 500 entries from all over the U.K., Year 8 pupil at Fort Hill Integrated College, Bryson Hanna received highly commended in the age 11-15 section of the competition. His poem, My Dad, (available here: https://www.poetryforgood.org.uk/growing-word/my-dad) was written as a celebration of the work Bryson saw his father doing as a paramedic, during the pandemic.

Pictured is Bryson, holding a copy of the poem with principal, Mr C. Millar and his English teacher, Mrs C. Hunter.
