Drumragh IC To Attend The Finals of Young Reporter Of The Year

Grace McSorley, a Year 10 student at Drumragh Integrated College has been selected as one of three finalists of the “Young Reporter Of The Year”.  Grace and Mrs Joan Wilson, who runs the Amnesty Group in Drumragh, are travelling to London on Friday 6th May 2016 to attend the ceremony.

In her work through the Amnesty International Group at Drumragh, Grace has repeatedly captured the attention of her audience according to her teacher, Joan Wilson.

Mrs Wilson said, “It is no surprise that Grace has achieved this recognition as her writing and presentations always aim to shine a light on human right abuses across the world. All of us at Drumragh Integrated College are so proud of her achievements and Grace’s ability to highlight human violations throughout the world.  Attending a workshop in the Guardian newspaper and attending the ceremony in Amnesty headquarters will be a fantastic opportunity for Grace, she is a talented writer and her article on “Ghana’s Hidden People” is inspiring.”

Grace said “Through my work with Omagh Riding for the Disabled, I have seen first hand the positive effects that the correct intervention can have for people with disabilities and I am so thrilled and delighted that my report has got through to the finals.”
