On Thursday 12th May, Year 12 pupils, staff and parents gathered in the assembly hall to say, “Farewell”. Mr Armstrong welcomed everyone to the occasion followed by JP Macauley and Reece O’Hara who shared with us some of their memories and highlights of the last five years.
You could have heard a pin drop as the Vocal Group delighted the audience with their version of “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth. This was followed by the video presentation entitled “A Trip Down Memory Lane”. The video show looked back at the first days of our Year 12 pupils when they had just started their education at the College before finishing with photos of their recent formal.
James McCartan and Sophie McMaster, presented Mrs McGarry with a collage of the “Class of 2016” before she added her own good wishes and farewells to the pupils.
Mr McNally, a member of our Board of Governors, and Mr Jamieson then presented our leavers with commemorative certificates before Kerry Callaghan and Bayleigh Crosthwaite encouraged everyone to “Reach For Your Dreams”.
Everyone then moved out into the glorious sunshine to participate in our annual tree planting ceremony. This year our chosen tree was a Snowy Mespilus which symbolises popularity, tolerance, radiance, strength of character and the resilience of our Year 12 leavers.
The afternoon was brought to a close with the serving of refreshments giving everyone a chance to say their “Farewells” and “Good Lucks” for the future.
