Twenty non-integrated schools (including five nursery schools) were represented among the attendees and they were joined by delegates from transformed schools: Crumlin Integrated College; Crumlin Integrated Primary School, Cliftonville Integrated Primary and Killyleagh Integrated Primary who were there to share their experiences.

The audience also heard from Fia Cowan from the Integrated AlumNI, who said of her education at Omagh IPS and Drumragh IC:
“Integrated education encourages its pupils not to shy away from sensitive issues. We discuss them with tenacity and respect”

After group discussions, questions arising were put to a panel comprising NICIE CEO Roisin Marshall ; Sam Fitzsimmons, Head of Communications at the IEF; Christine Boal, Principal of Crumlin IPS, Mark Baker from the Education Authority and Suzanne Kingon of the Department of Education.

We look forward to supporting those schools starting on their journey to integration and to welcoming other schools to future events around NI.
