We were delighted to facilitate once again a training session for Teachers and Staff New to Integration. The training took place on the 27th of August at Parkhall IC. This year teachers and other staff members from Lagan College IC, Roe Valley IPS, and Mallusk CIPS had an opportunity to learn about the history of integrated education, the role of NICIE, the integrated ethos and how to incorporate it into teaching practices and school policies, as well as training and resources available for schools to enhance their integration work.
This session presented an opportunity for participants to share good practices, to discuss challenges and opportunities of integrated education and address issues around personal development and professional teaching practices within the context of integration.
The event also welcomed teachers and staff from Mallusk CIPS to the integrated family. The school recently obtained approval to transform into an integrated school.
