Within Drumragh Integrated College this year the theme for International Integration Education Week was ‘Building Bridges’. The students, staff, parents and governors each completed a paper link in the chain expressing their hopes and aspirations for the future of our country.
Following on from this, two Year 14 students Molly Rainey and Teresa Mulligan successfully won the ‘Carson Award and Integrated Education Fund (IEF) Bursary.
With the help of the Art department and the Technology Department, they used the money to build a bridge during Integration week in the College.
A special thanks to the school’s Parent Council and Eco committee who helped to build the pond and shrub area in the school’s outside quad area.
The College would also like to thank Peter Brown and Des Eastwood who helped in the design of the pond and planting of the shrub area.
The Monet Bridge ceremony was opened by the late Frank Carson’s son Tony and daughter Majella.
The night also gave the College the opportunity to show GCSE, AS, A2 Art and Design coursework, A2 Moving Image Art Coursework and a selection of Key Stage 3 Gifted and Talented projects.
