NICIE, as an organisation, does not fall within the remit of the NI Ombudsman as defined in the legislation: Public Services Ombudsman Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 as being one of organisations covered by the Northern Ireland Public Service Ombudsman (NIPSO). However, we wish to adhere to the six principles of the approach that the NIPSO recommends public bodies should take when dealing with complaints from members of the public, which are:
1. Start off right
2. Fix it early
3. Focus on what matters
4. Be fair
5. Be honest
6. Learn and improve
Within the resources available to the organisation, NICIE aims to provide services, which meet or exceed your expectations. If you are dissatisfied with any service provided by us, or by any practice we adopt, we want to hear from you.
NICIE considers complaints as learning opportunities to improve our services. Please click on the image above for the full policy.
Please note the following:
NICIE cannot respond to anonymous telephone calls, emails, letters, or other communication. This policy should be read in conjunction with the Whistleblowing policy. You can view the Whistleblowing policy by clicking here.
